Question on using K1 media

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yea k1 media has to be kept moving in order for the bacterial colony to stay in peak form. The point of the movement to keep shedding off weaker bacteria so only the strongest survive and reproduce. This is what makes it a very effective bio media. Even just a small plastic bottle k1 reactor like in the video spankymaz spankymaz posted is a good supplement to your existing filtration and media. Of course I can't deny how well the plastic scrubby sponges work either since a section of my sunp is jam packed with them. Thanks for the link btw gonna need some more whenever I get around to drilling my 40b.
