Hi All,

I recently bought a Eheim 1262 for my L 5 x H 2.5 x W 2 180Gal
The pump is way to strong for my needs and stirs up the gravel.
My Question is would it be OK for the pumps flow to be restricted via a ball valve or should I just go buy a smaller size pump.

Are you using the 1262 for water circulation only? Is the pump in or out of the tank? Need a bit more info to help you out. You could always make a DIY spray bar to diffuse the water movement better and not push the gravel around.

hey pete... yer just buy a new pump and send me that one :P

Pump was being used to run my sump filter so its in the sump and returns back to the tank, I had it connected to a spray bar but there was still way to much water movement for my Aro the poor guy was like he's in a washing machine:ROFL::ROFL:.

Anyways I have sold the pump and purchased the Eheim compact 3000 this way I can adjust the flow from 1500 - 3000 LPH to suit the tank.
