QUESTION: Tank mates for Oscar?

Your Oscar will probably dig in the substrate and rearrange the tank how it wants it once it gets bigger.
I've herd of people having Silver Dollars and plants successfully. However, every one I've owned ate plants, even Java Fern.
It's definitely a gamble. I wouldn't do anything you plan on having permanent this early.

I've had an Oscar with about everything. Only time I had a problem was when I placed 2 oscars together in a solo tank 4ft grow out tank. Rehomed one.

all the oscars I have had have dug up and rearranged everything I've thrown at them. The don't bother anything that doesn't fit in their mouths. My 4.5 inch convict bullies the two 11+ inch oscars.
