Question while doing water changes

When doing water changes in a large tank do any of you guys just stick a hose on the sink and put the hose in the tank?

If so how do yoiu get the declor in it? you just add it afterwards?

i add enough dechlor. to treat the entire tank while i'm adding the water. havent had any problems

I just do it before and then after the WC to reassure myself
