i have a 50 gallon with porcupine puffer, snow flake eel, gulf toadfish, yellow tang, dwarf lionfish, arc eye hawkfish, yellow tail damsil and two 4 stripe damsils and two starfish choc. chip and slither. right now i have a whisper 60 hang on filter and a marinelad hot magnum on it. would it be better for the filtration if i put a Fluval 405 on it and take off the two other filters off. i am working on getting a protien skimmer. and before you guys get upset i have a 110 gallon when these fish get bigger.

it would be better if you kept all 3 filters running, you've got an overstocked tank and a lot of very messy fish. a skimmer would be a better investment than another canister.

Actually, 100g is the minimum recommended tank size for a porc.

The more filtration the better, especially in a small overloaded tank. The fluval will make an excellent addition to your filtration system.

Like i said i have that 110 gallon. i am selling off the fresh water fish in that one and going to make that tank a salty as well.

unless you're thinking of selling off that aro and usuing his tank... you still wont have enough. i've seen a 24+'' porc in a 300 gallon pond... that pond looked TINY!!!

That is not the usual porc that is sold in shops. The Diodon hystrix can grow to 3'. Hopefully, that is not the species he has.
