just do a waterchange and as ur doing one take pics of ur tanks so u can prve to us that u did one

You are one to talk seriously, the OP has had big fish tanks and I've seen a lot of them on youtube and all seem taken care of and very nice healthy fish, he even shows removing a chicken bone from one of his RD's pallet. I'd get a python and start doing at least 25% WC on your snapping turtle tank if not more at least once a week, he will get bigger quicker and be much happier and should eat even more. Good luck.

A whole year without a water change??? I change the water once a week in my ray tank!! If I dont my nitrates literally skyrocket, and theyre even a little high normally. And wouldnt his water be very hard, because hes adding after evaporation, and none of the heavy minerals are removed upon evaporation?

To see the point of water changes in four steps:
1. Fill your tub with water
2. Everytime you urinate, use this instead.
3. Don't clean it, bath in it, and don't leave it for a year...
4. Now imagine you are a fish, and would have to breath this stuff in daily, as well as eat the food thats been in this water.
I think this example should answer some of your questions about your current water quality lol, hope to see a WC in the near future!
