State of chaos
For a 30g tank, I've decided against Cons because I might not be able to accommondate fry. Could I keep them from spawning? If not, I would do one of the following:
Blue Gourami
Bolivian Ram
Firemouth Meeki
any other suggestion? Or problems with above fish?
Or, could I do Weather or Dojo Loaches?
And also are the above compatible woth Spotted Rafael/Clown Plecos?
Which of the above Cats are best?
THX

Dojo loach need to be in groups and they can reach more than 9 inch long so 30gal are too small for dojos. Firemouth and rams are not good mix IMO. Convicts can hybridizing with firemouth so you might not able to stop them from spawning. However gourami will do fine in 30gal (no giant, snakeskin or kissing).

Both firemouth and gourami do fine with catfish and pleco. Ram's not hardy fish.

Firemouths would be great, but they'd breed you out as well. Gourami's are neat, if you like that sort of thing. Rams would be great, but as rebel said, aren't the hardiest of fish. Rafael cats are awesom as long as you don't put them with snack sized tankmates. Why don't you try something a little, not a lot, off the beaten path. How about rainbow cichlids, or maybe kribs, another option is Lamp. birchardi (sp). These are great little cichlids that spawn readily. The older fry have will even help "watch" new batches. They are usually pretty easy to find homes for and absoluelty beautiful. Toss them in with a couple upside down cats and you got a great tank.

id do the rams.. but as others have said.. not exactly known for their hardiness.. id go further than that and say they are downright fragile when it comes to rehoming them... great fish if you can get them to last through the first week

i like the ram idea and u can add some tank mates as there not aggressive. clown pleco is fine and its stays small, the spotted raphael will always hide and u will almost never see them .;)

yea well use the females, they have nicer colors anyway
