Right now I have a top fin 20 filter buying gonna ask for 2 AC20's for Xmas will my filter be good I I decide to go this route before Xmas?

You could also look into Neolamprologus Multifasciatus. Perfect for that size of a tank and they will extend their family and help rear the colony. You can always move some out when it gets a bit crowded. Do a nice shell bed and they'd be happy. You could even get away with adding a sponge filter to your current and it would likely be enough.
