Well, I have an empty 75 gallon and I plan on moving 3 angels and some tetras into it. I also may end up adding 3 more angels to equal 6 in all. Would I be able to add a crenicichla belly crawler to that mix? If not, would an adult female dempsey work out? I am considering trial-and-error but I don't want to risk either the angels or the pike or the dempseys lives. What's everyones opinion on it?

Sure why not. They seem to stick to the bottom so there shouldnt be too much competition. You wont have to worry about the dempsey, the angels might get owned but I doubt it.

I've heard that the pike would eventually try to kill the angels off but being in the tank it is in right now, nothing messes with it and it messes with noone. I am thinking though it is a female because the only other fish it has ever fought was my mayan and it's left alone as well. I would wait till the angels were big enough to not get owned by either, so I'll just wait and see. Thanks for the help.

Its a 75g tank, dont sweat it. You can determine sex by looking for a spot and red coloration on the dorsal fin.

yea man u should be fine..and dandy

I kept one of my Bcrawlers in my ex girlfriends planted Discus tank with no problems at all. And Discus are even bigger b!tch fish than angels.

I dunno, the longer pelvic fins, and slow demenor might make them tempting targets. Belly crawlers don't generally go outa their way to much to harass other fish though, so more than likely you should be aight. I would be cautious at first, as there is no tellin what might happen. I keep my angel with Thorichthys species without any problems, but they are more mellow when it comes to aggression.
