Questionable 100G Tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for the help dudes.

Heres an offtopic question, but i was just lookin at my piranhas, and i also have a crayfish in there, just to clean up misc food that gets missed etc, i dont really care to much about him. but i noticed on his head there was this sort of "leech/worm" so i took him out and pulled this worm thing off his head, and it infact was a sort of worm. Anyone have any info on it, or know what it might have been and how i can prevent them from coming again or going to my RBP's?

sounds like a thread for the freshwater inverts section. There's no telling. Sounds like an anchor worm or something.

just like in Texas, things must look bigger in Canada. opt for a larger tank...i have a 110 tall with a footprint of 18x48. After all, this is monsterfishkeepers, eh?

It is a 55 gallon. I have one and I have been getting a lot of tanks lately. Good luck.

thanks dudes. ill keep a look out for an actual 100+gallon

Good choice. You would have been kickin' yourself later if you bought this 55gal and your piranhas needed an upgrade.

Were you able to find out anything about the worm? I was in that section a few months ago (i have no idea why) and someone was asking about the same thing. I don't remember what the solution was though

i believe it was a fish leech. i seen a picture of one and it looks exactly the same as the one i took off my crayfish. and i've seen how leeches move and it mimics one. Luckily it was not on my piranhas. I dont think im gonna take any action (salt, other medicines) just cause its the only one i've seen and it was on my crayfish. Also that it was very small and the first one i seen anywhere in my tank, and i dont believe it laid any eggs cause its said that its a 30day process. I read up somewhere here or on some other link saying it could have came from the fish poo or something, so im just gonna keep an eye out for anymore.
