I recently just bout two tiger oscars, each about an inch in length, i am keeping them in a ten gallon tank by themselves with adequate space to swim and good filtration. I am feeding them bloodworms, plankton, beefheart, and cichlid sticks.
I am planning on buying a new tank when they are too big for the ten gallon....how long should it take? and what size tank should i upgrade too?

75g should be bare minimum and I'd say you have like a month...maybe two.

You are right!!!Also Oscars tend to be a lot more aggressive when younger,so they will probably fight alot in that small tank.Plus Oscars are REAL PIGS!!! :WHOA:

They'll grow about 1" to 1 1/2"
Since their small, they tend to grow really fast.

with proper diet and water quality you should expect about an inch per month out of them up to say 8 or 9" and then they'll slow down a little bit. I'd be looking to have that new tank setup (75 bare minimum but a 120 would be much better) within 2 months. :)

I would go with a size that is a 6 foot length, like a 125. I think keeping multiple footlong+ fish in anything smaller is pushing it.

please keep that water clean. a ten gal is so small for oscars even for a short time. i know how it is to want a fish even though you dont have the room. just do the best you can to keep the water clean. i got mine in october at 2" and he is now about 8". i do 50% water changes every 4to 5 days and feed a wide variety of food two or three times a day... i want about 100 more cause i love em so much, but im not able to provide a few thouthand gallons. good luck with one of the most personable fish that money can buy.... :)
