Here's mine. I just got him so not much advice will be coming from me just yet. He's only about 4 inches right now, but I can keep you updated as he grows if you'd like. This is a learning experience for me too!
Oh man that's a nice catfish, I can't wait to get my own. Yeah, I'll see what I can do, if they start fighting a bunch then I will relocate the angels to a 55 or something. Thanks for all the help!
I've kept many over the years the biggest being a 22" beast in my 1100 gallon indoor pond.
You can grow them out and they grow fairly quickly like 1/2"-1" a month with proper feedings. When small I started off with ghost shrimp and rosies then after about 8" I would try and convert them off live food to Hikari carnivore pellets/frozen blood worms/small frozen shrimp, then on the big one it ate Hikari Massivore Pellets and big frozen shrimp. They definitely like to hunt in packs if you've got several and it's really fun to watch.
Like most shovelnose I'd recommend a decent amount of space even when small to avoid damaged mouths. Good diffused oxygen and some current also seems to be appreciated and I frequently found mine laying on the driftwood in the current.
Search my old threads for pics. Great fish, don't get as big and not as aggressive as most shovelnose cats.
