yea but the cuckoo catfish eat like pigs too :D
again ill get channa soon... but for now im happy with my cichlid setup...
But u must admit acura that channa are not easy to care for... they need good water quality and good food.. feeders usually have problems with them and a high protein diet is needed... but its his choice.. aslong as he knows what he is doing and is ready
..... snakeheads are awesome though... i find um cute

nah. i havent had any yet but im getting them shipped in so i've done more then enough reseearch on them. ive studied what everyone said about bleheri and others. And i've concluded they are one of the easiest fish to keep. especially bleheri because apparently they can live through almost any kind of water. they are sub tropical so can't be kept in warm water all year long .. other thne that they are like tanks .. water gets super dirty and enough to kill other fish .. they'd still be happy from what i've heard. they arent nearly as finiky as most fish

hmmmm yea ur right but it depends on the species... the dwarf channa that come from india need good water quality.. they come from clean rivers/streams all around north india and basically need good food too..
But they are hardy and can take bad water condtions for a week or so without getting sick... the larger channa are HARDY!!!!!!! and can take dirty water for ages.... i plan to have a fx5 on my channa detup :D

yeah. i have a 300 and a 150 AC on my tank now for filtration but getting a used fluval 404 for half cheap this week. so it wil be pretty clean. no media included though i dont think. anyone have an idea how much media would run me for a 404?

since when were they illegal there? when i checked up on it like five months ago to make sure they were legal in NL they were legal in ON. i don't remember exactly what provinces but im almost positive all the atlantic provinces quebec and ontario were on the legal list.

It's not recommended to give your fish feeders as they can introduce diseases to your tank. As it was mentioned earlier, feeders are given more as a spectacle for the owner rather than for the benefit of the fish. It's best to stick with pellets, flakes, and either frozen or live foods like bloodworm and brine shrimp.

Feeders are bad, and annoying, and take up a lot of space. I have only one fish who I feed feeders, and that's because he only has one eye, and he is too finicky to take to prepared foods. I don't know how much experience you have with feeders, but while it might "sound" cool, it's really not. If you have room for a quarantine tank, and are prepared to quarantine your feeders, your fish is 50% safe. Otherwise, you're 100% likely to sicken or kill your fish with feeders. They're just not a good idea. Just my POV... I have monster fish, and they're monsters when it comes to pellets, or frozen fish fillets... or grapes. It speaks to the fishkeeper's experience and husbandry to keep "monster" fish that DON'T need feeders. Sorry to be preachy. I'm done.
