Questions about strigata vs venezuelian

To what extent?
I'm not dedicating a tank to two fishes anymore, been into channas for too long.
Strong tank mates would be able to fend them off?

Maybe. If they end up just being lugubris, you have a better chance of them getting along with the bass. Just grow them out and see if the spotting disappears, which could be gone in less than a year.

So basically, there's still a chance they're not lugubris? I'm to hope for the spotting to NOT go away if I want "tame" crenicichlas?

I got myself 2 oscars while waiting for another go at kelberis, since these didn't go through. :(

I wouldn't call lugubris venezuela tame, just a little less aggressive than lentiuclata overall. More people have been able to keep sp Venezuela with other fish like bass and oscars. Lenticulata retain the face spotting as adults.

A good article on lugubris family and a nice head shot you can compare to.

Little color and size (and jesus, they grow fast) developpement, if it helps at all.
Picture is crappy, didn't have time to take out the Nikon. ;)
