thanx for the info guys. really appreciated.
lol and ya i know alot of people dont ask, i like to ask people who know rather than asking at the lfs cause they useually just want to make a sale unless you really know someone who works there.
and ya i wish more people took this route when buying fish and any animal for that matter
i just did a thread about some gar that were at a lfs that i stopped in and the guy was a total idiot. gave me ridiculous info, which i then informed him was all wrong and made him feel stupid. cause even if someone would have asked they wouldn't have known the truth after talking with him. 6 of 1 half a dozen of another the cards are stacked against the monsters, but thats why sites like this are so important, for people in the know to help people get into the know.
i know my 55 might get a bit cramped, if it does ill buy them a 75. but i know a 75 for a pair of sveni will do you right, i would have to say that i think my sveni pair are my fav. fish. and i have a ridiculus obsession, oops i mean hobby.
i have plecos is both of my pike tanks with no problems... make sure the plecos are big enough tho.

oh ya? i just thought they were fair swimmers, like i said before i had one when i was young and i thought i remembered him making full use of the 125. that was years ago though
when they are young they are alot more active... when i see juvies in the 2" range and the store theyre usually swimming around like crazy but they tend to swim less as they get older. good dithers are IMO important to keeping them active. ive notices tanks without dither, pike spends alot of time in his cave and tanks with dithers, pike comes out and swims more. this has just be my observation tho.
they have to be bigger than the pikes or just big enough to not be bite size?
my biggest plec is a 10inch common plec other than that i have 2, 5-6inchers and a lot of 2-3 inch ones
id say the 2-3 inchers are no good... even if the pike is small ive always had slow growth out of my plecos so the pike would grow to fast and maybe make dinner out of it soon. the 5-6 inchers and the common should be fine. altho it all depends on the pike and how aggressive he is
