Guitar string is a really good idea. A friend of mine used to have a 55g tank with a cracked side panel I've been tempted to try and repair. But I never looked to hard into how to take tanks apart. Good stuff.

Am I missing something? How can you get a guitar string or piano wire between the glass and the plastic frame? I can see using the string to split apart the side panels of course after the plastic top piece is removed. Please explain?
