Questions on Tadpoles

I have seen them in petland in the feeder tank for 12 cents each.

They generally turn into the aquatic clawed frogs if im correct, but I dont think there is any way to be sure.

Have you ever seen an African Clawed Frog tadpole? You can't really confuse them with any other tadpole out there. The whiskers are a dead give away. The tadpoles most places get are usually, Leopard, Green or Bullfrog tadpoles.

This may sound strange but I read somewhere that tadpoles don't do well in small ponds of fish tanks containing goldfish. Something about the hormones the goldfish release into the water.

The hole in his side is not an arm. they get back legs first and their arms develop inside they body before popping out.

from what I've heard or seen, the tadpoles at LFS are bull or leopard. I buy a half dozen leopard tadpoles each spring to help w/a little early algae control. They do an OK job and seem to like it there for the start of their lives. have yet to have any return in the spring though.

Im not to good with IDing amphibians.

Maybe you guys can tell me if my Tapoles are Bullfrogs or Leopards or whatever.

i don't see any black spots so i'd venture a guess at leopard or green frog.

Not bullfrog.. I have raised a few bullfrog tadpoles.. What size are they? I would guess from the pics maybe leopard. But surely not bullfrog.

3 Inches Approx.


The belly is not white though, its more yellowish. I also didnt see any spots or any black dots anywhere, They seem to be very dark solid green.

I guess this will ultimately be a surprise...
