questions regarding dismantling acrylic sumps

I am not pissed at you I appreciate the insight.

ya I know about Ge silicone 1 and I have read reviews that say you have to find the one without mildew resistance, or else it kills your BB. I live in Canada and all the ones I found in the home depot and other stores have it so I was stuck with this as my only option

ok I have found a solution

it doesnt require me to dismantle it OR use Weld On

Its called JB WATERWELD,

Its aquarium safe and as long as you slighty scruff the surface of the acrylic with sandpaper it holds on VERY tight.

I tested it on a piece of scrap acrylic and in order to remove any of the JB(just to see how durable it is and how well it bonded) I had to use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to break off a small piece.

Going to seal the sump tank and I will let you know later if I have been successful.

it works great this jb waterweld, if you slightly scuff the acrylic with some sandpaper this stuff will hold on nice and tight, have had the sump going for about a week and it is doing great!!!!
