Is a 200w heater sufficient for a 65g tank? or do I need to get another 1?
Also, where should the heater be placed for the heat to distribute evenly? or does it even matter?
I'm thinking of getting a sticker thermometer & wanted to know if it's accurate..
Please advise.. thx

200w should be enough. Placement should be somewhere in the flow of a filter or powerhead for better dispersal. I'd actually use a digital thermometer.

Is it ideal to put the heater in the middle of the tank cause I've powerhead on each side..
& thx for the recommendation of the digital thermo.. didn't know there's such thing.. will try to get 1.. :)
How long does the battery last for the digital thermometer?

the stick on thermometers are great if you want to know the air temperature beside your tank. i find the best thermometer is also the most inexpensive...... plain glass floating one. mind you, if your fish are the thermometer eating type you might want to go with something less tasty...... lol. i had a couple digital thermometers, gave them away, don't care for them one bit, because changing out dead batteries is for rc cars, not fish tank equipment!

As my heater cannot be fully submerged in the water, I was wondering if I should place the heater above or below the water level indicator on the heater tube.. Please advise, thx..

water level line is where the water level should sit, (as i understand and have always done)

agree with the glass thermometers being best. my digital one went a bit haywire from start, then sorted itself out. when i needed to change the battery has been haywire ever since.

but my glass one has always been perfect. although my oscar does like to fight with it sometimes. lol

not in my experience. only if the heating element is out of the water will you have a problem.

remember that during water changes,
whats that burning smell?,...... didnt power off heater... lol.

we've all done it im sure.:D

Thx for the heads up.. will remember to off the heater during wc..
Do fish get burnt from a 28°C heater if they swim too close to the heater tube?

no,

plecos tend to sit on the heater, in which case a heater guard is a good idea ive seen a couple with burns.

but ive never experienced any fish burnt from swimming near a heater.

what fish do you have in the tank?
