so i don't know anything about arowanas, and i was just wondering a few things.

1) i heard that some kind of Asians are legal in the U.S. (reds and goldens). the guy that told me this is a biologist, and there is an LFS around here that caries the reds. True?? (can some one post a link to some kind of source for this answer?)

2) whats the difference between Asian arowana and other kinds?

3) whats the difference between silver arowana and Asian silver arowana?

I'll probably think of more questions as these get answered. i know you guys have big fishy brains, so sorry if these seem dumb, but like i said i don't know any thing about arowana.

golds and reds are def. not legal here in the states. they can be found in the states but not legal to buy. im guessing an asian silver would be like mine...it actually came from asia, but a silver none the less.

Asians are illegal in the US. The difference between asians and south americans is the genus, and many statistics about their behavior. Asians are scleropages, and SA's are osteoglossum. Asians and their close relatives the aussie aros are both scleropages, however aussies have more rows of scales, and smaller scales. The asians have very large scales. Search for cites, lacey act, asian arowana on the site, and you will get all the info you need.
