alright so ive been looking for a larger alternative to krill, i told my gf to get me some market shrimp on her way home, but she brings me some frozen crap, Kroger raw small shrimp, says its peeled and deveined, im iffy on it cause it has a preservative, sodium bisulfite

what do you guys think? think its ok to give?

exact ingredients are, shrimp, sodium tripolyphosphate, and says it mite have sodium bisulfite

I always use market shrimp.....not sure about the shrimp you have.

Think about it this way, if you value your fish and would be crushed if they die from eating this shrimp then use it for human food and get some market shrimp for the bass.

Or if you can stomach it, drop in the shrimp and see what happens. I'd play it safe and just get market shrimp.

any pbass experts out there have any input? anyone ever feed frozen shrimp like this?

Not an expert here but my bass diet consist of fresh frozen shrimp shell on i thaw in tank water pull the shell off rip in two and throw in ...X large or large ...Also Tilapia fillet witch is the main diet and very cheap full of nutrition let thaw but still really firm just thawed enough to chopp up they love it ...Might take a little time to get used to the change though... Hugh..And as nutritional supliment i gut load feeders with hikari 4 days a week plus the tilapia:D

That is the same market shrimp i have been using. Its fine...just thaw it out, shell it and chunk it into pieces. I stuff my pieces w/ massivore and the azuls love it!

ive been meaning to try tilapia, but for some reason i can never find it around here

Most grocery stores will cut open those 2lb bags of shrimp and dump them in their display counter of "fresh" frozen seafood. I've seen them do it to. It's the same stuff no matter what. I used to buy shrimp at the asian supermarkets, much cheaper than your froo-froo grocery store
