Quick Advice Needed

Last night I couldn't sleep so I do some bizarre things. I have read and people have told me for the colour of a FH to stand out they need to have bright colours in the background. Well mine is/was all black. I took the backing off and the gravel out.

Now do I have to get that ugly pink gravel? If it REALLY will help the colour stand out I will. Also backgrounds, I can only find the pictured ones with the rocks and stuff but light colour, is that good enough?

Im going this morning, that is why I need quick advice.
 
Okay, I am going to a few stores this morning. I will choose something bright. Thank you.
 
Mixed bright colored gravel is the best option for flowerhorns. Think lego's or clown puke for the color. Any colored background is fine the stuff for aquariums isn't that expensive and isn't going to get wet and soggy like wrapping paper.
 
Well I did it, lots of work but I did it. Here are a couple pics. I could not go with the pink, just not my thing. I could add another mixed colour in there like you said.

Thanks, I worked hard. Oh Nemo is Charlies friend, lol. Acyually he is always playing with nemo. lol
