quick african cichlid question

my 90g is a mix of vc-10, venustus, ahli, spilontus, ob & german red peacock with 5 electric yellow labs

would you say that an emperor 400 is enough filtration for a 75 malawi show tank?

add a air pump with air stone or a internal filter or power head to add some oxygen & keep circulation plus serve as a back up in case filter fails.

VC-10 are nice. I used to have one awesome male.

I would want a little more than just the Emp 400 for a 75. I have an Emp 400 and a foam filter on my 55 grow out tank.

I moved away from air stones and replaced them with foam filters. They run right off your air pump and are cheap. They are an easy and cheap way to add some biological filtration.

if its a display aquarium then use rocks, decor to hide the sponge filter because it can look unsightly in a display.
Air stone looks ascetically pleasing. Or add another power filter? I prefer Aquaclears over emps.

I also prefer Aqua Clear. My 90 has an AC 110 & 2 hydro-sponge V's

That is true. I keep mine behind the decor. I used to always have an air stone for decoration and aeration, but just go annoyed by them....Plus my FH would attack the bubbles and make a bunch of racket. He actually bit the airline and gnawed it apart.

yes you can, but sometimes you need to keep an eye for the very aggressive fish.
