Quick Ball Python Question

its a secret
hey i got my ball about a week ago, and i have knowticed through the cage that he has kind a blueish gleam to him. its not on his eyes or anything. i was just wondering if that was becasue maybe he has never shed before.. i dont know. any ideas

Never shed before?.... That would mean hes literally like an hour old. They shed the first day of life (twice I think) and very often for the first year of life.
 
couldn't find a pic of a royal, but same principle, heres a couple of brbs, one in shed, one not. The blue tint is just the skin that's about to come off.

this is my first snake, all this is new to me, sorry if i seem stupid :confused:
 
it could also be irredescents from the light reflecting off of the scales .If you look real close and at an extreme angle you can also see a rainbow effect that is what it is the scientific name is deflection.It is the amount of light deflecting off of a reflective surface.
