Quick breeding fish for feeders?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Another thing I like to do Is keep my receipts for like a long time so I can monitor what I have bought over the years and I have connections to the pet mob lol but i know one of the guys that works at petco and he said if anything dies or gets sick or ur tired of it just bring it to me and ill get u money for it. And I was looking through the receipts (dont ask) lol but I saw I bought 10 females and 4 males and by the next day I had babies in my tank so I did something right and I believe I got all the fish for 10% off because my friend hooked me up but the total with some other things I bought was like $40 so it's cheap to make feeders as well as fun

I'll tell you right now unless your breeding pairs are producing like mad it's cheaper to go get feeders at the store. besides turtles get bigger and turtles will eat bigger feeders eventually. So get feeders from the lfs. unless your only local fish store is Petco/Petsmart/Walmart...then in that case breeding guppies is not such a bad idea. Predatorial fish keepers can use Convicts as they are mass producer but I'd still reccomend getting feeders at the store as it's cheaper and less time consuming. The time and money put into breeding a small supply of feeders for you fishes/wet pets is not worth it. Honest truth.

Its really not that much work to set up a small 20-30 gallon tank with a few guppy pairs and let them breed. I did that about three months ago and within the first month I had to move them out to my pond because thre were so many.

Now I just sell them to friends who have larger predatory fish and want disease free healthy feeders. If you just have a turtle or two, a few pairs of guppies should give you a sustainable supply in a month or so.
