I just picked up some Quick Cure from a local fish store to treat my new peacocks for ich. It tells me it works within 48 hours, but how many days should you keep using it once the fish recover? I'm also wondering how long it's safe to keep the carbon out of my filter.

Lol, yes, quick cure is common.
Use it for probably 3 days or until the fish are clear. I recommend adding salt, and boosting the temperature as well.
It's common that quick cure will dye your silicon lining in the tank, but over time slowly fades away.

You can keep the carbon out of your filter for however long, as long as the tank is fully cycled. If it's fully cycled there should be enough bacteria on the gravel and decorations in the tank to keep things nice. You might experience a very small amonia spike, not enough to harm the fish though.

Thanks. I started using it two days ago and the fish (one had it bad) all look good now. Quick Cure was true to its word and resolved the problem in 48 hours. I've never had to deal with ich before despite owning multiple tanks for a few years now. The tank had been set up for a while, but I recently moved the three fish I had in there out (left it empty for a couple of days), added five new fish and am now dealing with what I think is a Cyanobacteria outbreak, which I also think started before the new fish were added, although I didn't know what it was at the time.

It must also be common that if you get Quick Cure on your skin it takes some serious scrubbing and a shower or two to get it off.
