Started a 75 gallon tank, thinking about doing a fishless cycle. However, what will the likely time difference be between a fishless cycle and adding a filter that was used on another tank and a few hardy fish ?

I add cycled filters to new tanks all the time. I match the temp, dechlor, move the fish, and feed lightly for a few days. I've never had an issued doing it that way. As long as the tank you're moving fish from has great water quality, then it shouldn't be much different at all from the new one.
You can add the used filter and still do a fishless cycle. And that will probably cut the time down by half. It would be the same as if you used some seed bacteria. The tank would not be 100% cycled by adding the used filter but it would have a culture of bacteria added to it and that would speed things up.

I set up quarrantine tanks by tranferring over a cycled filter, bio-wheel or sponge all the time and they've neve gone through a mini-cycle. However I've never done it on a tank over 30 gallons.
