I know oscars are usualy laid back and such..
but would a FULL grown adult pose any threat to 8-10" Hujeta(False) Gars?
And what about 5-6" Clown Loaches?
Thats the truth. I bought a gold O once because he was agressive so I figure he could survive with my monsters. He outgrew outate and beat up everyfish in the tank. He ate another O (freaked me out) and took out a few CL's. After that he had to go.
oscars are truely funny fish....in my tank my oscar<oscar>9-10inches is the top dog followed by gandulf 7-8inches another oscar....they keep the tank in check
if my jag and severum square up oscars move in and jag runs to the hills....then after severum hides in the middle of the oscars, egging the jag on then oscars move of sevs all brave again<big mistake>
aggros not bad mind theres no wounds....ever...
if you are going to get a oscar get it the smallest cos boy do they grow quick 3inches to 10inches in 10months noooo probs
Depending on the O he might have a go at the hujetas. Generally they aren't particularly aggressive unless they think they can eat something, and they can be pretty aggressive when competing for food. The grown hujeta ought to be safe but they're not that wide a fish; you might just end up with an O who thinks he can swallow one and come home to the tail half of the hujeta sticking out of the O's mouth.
