alright .. anyone who knows anything about pvc will probably find this to be a stupid question but i know nothing about it so..

ive managed to replace what i need to replace on my used tank set-up .. pvc wise etc. the valves (union ones) that the guy had he had already replaced. the only thing he didnt really replace from when he had the set up was the two fittings he used for the drains. connceting the pvc to the hosing. I know nothig about pvc so im trying to figure out the exact name of these adapters so i can ask for them by name over the phone.

what i do know is: it is a dark grey fitting .. 1" .. schedule 80 i believe one of the stores called it? and has s-80 written on it. brand name is chemkor if it matters. no part number or anything on it though unfortunitly. .. one end is just plain (to cement pvc pipe in) and the otehr end is threaded .. for the piece that connects it to the hose. .. ive tried a few places around and everywhere seems to say they dont have this schedule 80 type stuff. the one place that would have something like it has a $100 minimum cash purchase

anyone know the name of what im looking for?

You're looking for a hose barb fitting. You want to make sure that the the base of the fitting (which connects to the pvc pipe) is the right size for the pvc you've used, and make sure the hose barb is the right size for the hose you're using. They do come in many different sizes and reducing/enlarging, so make sure you get the right one. One other thing to remember is that you need to keep the diameter of the hose and the pvc similar. If one is much smaller than the other, you could have flow restriction which could cause all kinds of issues.

One thing you can do is get threaded fittings as well, so that they're removable. Otherwise go for the slip connection, which is glued on the end of the pvc pipe.

I think the piece your looking for is called a bulkhead fitting. on the threaded end it will take a male female adaptor to attach pipe and the other end should except standard pvc pipe.

to the first guy ^ theres two pieces involved in the fitting .. one connects to the hose sepperatly then screws into the piece in need to replace (hence the threaded end of this piece) .. the hose fitting is fine and i can just re-screw that into a new piece but the piece i need to replace has been sued once with the pvc glued into it and cut so i need to replace just this piece. it looks like this but i can't tell if this is exactly what i have as i cant see the other side .. if the other side is bare for pvc then its the same thing (except mine is just a rounded outside, doesnt have the bolt looking thing on it)

and to the second comment .. nah, its not a bulkhead, that connects the pvc through the hole in the tank .. i got that taken care of another piece of pvc comes out from the bottom of the bulkhead then the fitting i need is needed .. then the hose goes to my w/d

yes, if you just want a fitting you can glue to pvc pipe, ,,,,, then thread a hose barb into it, that is what it is called.

The 1" part will referance your pipe size,,,,, you will also have to tell them what the thread size is.

If your pipe is 1" your barb may be 3/4" so you need a " 1" slip fit 3/4 npt adaptor"

The fitting you are describing is a MPT Adapter.
In your case it is a Sch. 80 1" slip tp Male Pipe Thread (MPT)
IMO a better solution is to use a FPT adapter (Female Pipe Adapter) and a nipple or a threaded hase barb fitting
