quick question about cleaning out filters

Vac it all the way out if you can.
Or...
net it and remove it...just that much more that your filter doesn't have to process...

I vacuum it up once a week, it doesn't make my ammonia or nitrates high or anything, I just don't like the like of it on the white sand, it gives the tank a dirty appereance so what I've been doing is just stirring it up once a day when I'm done feeding. The clown loaches + tinfoil barbs end up eating most of it before the filter can get to it
