That should be fine. To be honest the spotted gar would be good in that tank for a couple of years, if the tank is 24" wide.

yeah, its 6ftx2ftx2ft

already picked up the gars. there ****in sweet. 2 spotted gars and 1 shortnose gar. they hang out with my silver aro n all eat pellets already. :headbang2

Excellent. Does the shortnose seem more nervous or skittish than the spotted?

Remember young gars don't like a lot of flow, they like calm water, so if you have powerful filters make sure to dampen the output somehow.

BTW a 6x2x2 is a 180, not a 150 ;)

I bought m first hujeta 3 days ago. He/she is 10-12 cm. And my 2nd gar comes 2morrow (spotted)

I had a longnose (L. osseus), but it died when it was young.
He was thin and some finns were gone... he lived in a tank with a wolffish as friend in the store where i bought him :/

i agree with rumble, theres nothing gar about thim

good to know lol. the shortnose is a lot more skittish then the spotted gars. i picked them up when i was transfering them. 2 regular hob filters so not to much flow. they seem fine, jus hang out in the corner a lot.

and malcus, if your puttin the hujeta with your spotted. expect the hujeta to dissapear.
