Just curious, how many people with stemmed plants actually remove the whole plant from their tank, trim the bottom part off and then replant the shorter top part of the plant in their tanks?

Or do most just trim the top part off and throw that out instead and leave the roots in the tank?

Interesting, when you say trim, do you mean chop the top part off and throw it away? Or just trim some of the leaves off the stem?

I think Joe means trim a section off from the top of the plant. That makes the plant send out new leading shoots, resulting in a bushier plant. The reason some people recommend trimming off the bottom section is because after a while it looses its leaves and gets leggy. Trimming off the bottom also allows you to keep the growth tips, which in some plants is the better looking section.

^ yeah, i've always been a trim the bottom type of guy, although i've also noticed some like to just trim the tops, so thought i would ask here what other people preferred :)

Anyway, thanks for clearing that up for me...
