quick question... HELP!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got some from a pool supply and it took about 50+ rinses for it to come out clear. My thoughts were either they sat outside in the rain for a while, or they sat on a truck or something and vibrated it to powder lol. Pain in the butt!

Wow, were averaging 2-3 threads daily on sand. Will some one make these a sticky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't even know... I tried that months ago. Didn't "stick."

Just let the sand settle for a while (day or two), then keep doing water changes.

i rinsed it again, it's a little more clear but i think this is going to take a while.

sucks!!

jsut keep it in ur tank and flush it this way. keep filling it up while sucking it out, will clear up in about half hour!!!!!

Keep in mind... there are millions (or more) teeny tiny particles floating in the water... if you just wait and let them settle they are still in the system. Over time they will swirl back up challenging attempts at "crystal clear" water and ending up in your filter media. Sand, even teeny particles, are rough on media...

While I understand they are so tiny this is all happening on a small scale and isn't that big of a deal. I still feel it is worth the effort to remove them from the system through thoroughly washing the sand first, then water changing as necesarry to remove what is missed.
