Quick question on dovii pairing

I left my entire group until a pair formed. Having a heavily stocked tank that didn't really have territories to establish worked fine for me. I would think as your stock decreases it would increase the odds of one fish getting singled out. My second pair formed at about 3 and 4 inches. A few pics of them when they first started coloring up and paired off, then a few months later when they had some more size on them.

Very nice fish that’s kind of the approach I’ve been taking. It’s reassuring that it worked out for you. Everyone’s getting along now with so many of them in there. I think I’ll just wait it out until a pair successfully spawns

I had actually two spawnings and pretty sure I have 2 pairs but haven’t had any eggs make it to fry stage yet

Just wanted to give a quick update. I removed all the dovii except for a pair a few months ago. They have had several spawns. It’s fun watching the dry swim around the tank. Male probably 6.5 inches now.

I don't know why people want a pair, frys are hard to sell. So why don't just keep a solo male or female.
