I'm going to build my own under gravel filter...I was going to use pvc and some other random things for the tubing thats not the problem..
I was researching using activated carbon for making a home made filter is this ok to use in large quantity's?
How can I impliment carbon and zeolite crystals?

Carbon typically is used for removing medications. If your going to be using an under gravel filter I would avoid the carbon all together unless your trying to remove meds you have treated with recently. Save your $$$ in my opinion.

Oh well I bought carbon for like 3$ for a lb and 1lb of zeolite amonia remover.I was wondering if I could implement them into my wet dry filtration system..

It would be better in the wet dry, I think. If it's in the under gravel portion, what do you do when the carbon adsorbs its limit? I would think it tedious to have to dig it out, replace the carbon, and rebury the filter.

Both are really unnecessary for everyday use. Like above said carbon is for medication removal and ammonia remover is unnecessary if your tank is cycled. You can run it for the hell of it since you got it so cheap but replacing is going to be a hassle, especially carbon since it needs replacing quite frequently since it will leech back into the tank.
