Is this the SS tank you were talking about building?

yes, this is the 1200 gal ss tank. acrylic has been installed with no issues. picture attached was when it was still partially filled. now, tank is filled to desired level.

IMHO, if you're going to do a half-assed repair, you might as well use duct tape, or leave it. What's the point of putting a ton of work into building a tank, and then, and then leaving it with a crappy band-aid in the end? what's 300G of water worth?

if you will measure my effort in ass scale, I think it would be easily ten assess already since I had spent well over $10k on it and more than 200 hours of work.

go to a boating store and look at splash zone or other products meant to be applied in or under water........... also very small leaks may self seal over time from silt.

however i drained my 2400 gallon twice before making it leak free

thanks Dr Joe & John, I'll do that.

I placed a completely dry container to catch the water dripping - probably around 1 tablespoon overnight.

I might drain it and reseal on the weekend.

OK. I'm not trying to judge what you've done so far, don't get me wrong. That pic is an AWESOME tank... but if you have that much invested in it already, fix it properly. You WILL regret sticking a band-aid on a beautiful project that you had the opportunity to finish properly.

I get the same way when I'm nearing the end of a long hard project I just want to do whatever it takes to make it work NOW... and if I give into that urge, I ALWAYS regret it.

thanks John & Cvermeulen.

the tank is now leak free with everything going, just waiting for the temp to climb up to 28 C

I was able to patch the leak with Lexel sealant then covered with Dow 832.
