I used to live in Philly and was a regular at Martin's aquarium. That place introduced me to monster snakeheads and pimas.

Snakeheads are illegal in the US. What I'm seeing in the pictures are big bowfin.

I think the bigger ones are gone.

Were the Monsters for sale? Gars, gigas, etc? Probably only a couple hours from me.
The pimas are in a display tank but they probably would sell them for the right price.....They are four footers.

Martins was the best store this town ever had but it was just across the line in another county.They sold monkeys and just about anything a customer was willing to pay for but the snakeheads were legal back then.They closed down years ago.

Gotcha. Cool.

Did they have any peacock bass for sale? If so, sizes and prices? Just heard of this place the other day.

Wow...nice shop! They stock aros like other places stock neons :p. I had to double check the location, reminds me of some of the asian stores...very very nice shop.

The owner is Asian and I've never seen peacocks there but he may get them at times.

Yep, it was back in '89, I had an oscar, snakehead and a school of redbellies. Martin's was amazing, I used to go there once a week whether I needed anything or not. They had three large macaws that were awesome as well. I was truly sad when I heard they closed down.

that place was awesome :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

that's where i bought my first ever reptile, amphibian and fish ("red bangkok" snakehead w/ an oscar and a 10 gallon kit, lol)!!! i remember they had a sloth there too! best pet shop ever, imo.

giant aquarium doesn't have too much variety at any one time (as far as # of species) but they have a TON of selection for the relatively few fish they do carry. op's pics pretty much sum up the place.
