Quiet canister filter

The fx6 should release air by itself? Anyway i cant hear it because i have a sunsun in another aquarium just right to the fx6 and the sunsun sounds like ****....

That is what happens with the pump on the bottom. It can't get rid of air without shutting down. Also the pump and impeller can get damaged if sand gets in it. It only takes one grain.

Since it actually shuts down and releases air by itself i dont see any problem with that. And i dont have sand in my aquarium so no problems there either.

the filter is not that sensitive. i dump gravel out of my fx5 and 6 every time i clean it and it hasnt hurt it a bit. the manual shutting down is probley not 100% necessary but it helps to do it two ore three time when it is initially set up or after a cleaning when it has been broken down. the fx6 goes through a bleed cycle two times a day by itself so it wont be an issue during normal use.
