Quiet filter for bedroom.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i had many different types of canister filters and you will definitely hear them all if you are close to the. even from 6 ft away in your bed room at night, you can hear it on.

the most quiet one that i ever had was the eheim classic

there is no such thing as a dead quiet filter.

if u have a iphone or a andriod phone, you can go to the market place and get the sound meter app and measure in dB how loud it is. they all make some noise

fx5 measured at 43db

Eheim classic. My 2217 is dead silent, as in I can put my ear right next to the motor and can't hear anything. I have to touch it to tell if it's on--you can feel the motor running, but you sure can't hear it.

Sunsun 302 for a cheaper canister filter that many people here including me will swear by. It is absolutely dead silent and I can only tell it's running by touching it to feel the slight vibration. I have it next to a fluval and it makes that seem loud. You never mentioned what size tank you'll be filtering or the stock which will make a huge difference on filter options.

I agree 100% with the Eheim classic suggestions. They are hands down the quietest filter on the market today. I have many FX5's and most are hit or miss noise wise. Never have I heard a loud Eheim. If price is an issue, shop Craigslist, I see used ones fairly often. I would never put a HOB in my bedroom, that waterfall sound would drive me insane (married so technically it's the sound the wife makes about it that would get to me lol..).
