Quiet One 9000s problems

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mags are power hogs compared to quiet ones, but IMO are a much better pump. When my current quiet one dies, I am definitely switching back to mags.

Thanks for the input Joe. Does anyone here other than me use the rio hf series? I like mine alot and am probably going to buy to 32hf

I love quiet One pumps, but Will not use anything larger than a 6000. From what I am to understand, any thing bigger was subject to a different design and never met the quality standards compared to the lower models.

And for reference, I'd trade my Mag Drive for Quiet Ones any day. They are soooo much quieter than the Mags.

I have a quiet one 9000 on a 250G freshwater setup that is terrible for noise. It pumps lots of water, but is too loud to have installed. It's in my basement and is too loud and annoying. I'm going to to switch my pump out. After removing the pump I may take it apart and see if it can be fixed. Have you tried taking your 9000 apart?

I've read the 4000 quiet ones are quite good but the flow rate is a bit low for what I need. My plumbing is 1.5" PVC and cannot be replaced easily. If anyone sorts out a good 1500-2000gph pump that is very quiet and would be suitable for 1.5" PVC I would love to know.

replace the shaft and propeller. Fixed mine, then stopped working all together 2 weeks later haha.
