Quikrete All Purpose Sand???

Well I thought I had to have it before I put the fish in so I rushed. Now that I can put it up and get them in. I will look around on the net since there is no rush.

Just curious, is there a way to 'test' the sand in like a glass or a cup to see what it will do when submerged under water and see if it will work or not? I don't mind using it if it's ok and safe...

Ok, after doing more research on sand. I think I am going to give my all purpose stuff a try. I really do not want to deal with adding sand after I have my fish. And I like the cost. According to this site, All purpose sand is in the same category/grade as Pool Filter Sand...thoughts??

I have all purpose sand in my cichlid tank. Looks great, just have to wash and wash and wash and wash! When mine went in the water didn't even get cloudy. Now I want to do my 150 with it.

Oh I plan on it. I bought 3-5 gal buckets from home depot to break it up in portions and a wooden dowel rod to do the stirring.
