I quit the morning of the 1st. woke up with a killer hang over, tried to make myself puke and threw the smokes out the window of my car.

Boy I am really starting to FREAK OUT!

The closest I have ever came to quiting was a few years ago cold Turkey so I know that it's the only way for me.

I can't sleep, my chest and lungs hurt and are crazy tight.
I can't concentrate and I'm a nervious reck.

I have been smoking for probally 21 years with one year break in there.
Yep I quit for a year, got drunk, bummed one and was back to a pack a day instantly.
lol

I know I can never ever have one again if I want to be a non-smoker.

I'm so jealous of the people that can have one or two a day or just when there out at the bar. I can't and it sucks.

Damm ciggs!
It's taking all my will power not to rummage through the trash looking for old nasty butts to try to light up.

the trick to quitting is smoke all you want... but you have to eat each butt.. chew it till its gone.. no swallowing them whole.. also you have to put them out on yer arm...

i was one of those one or two a day or while drinking (for me it was while driving) smokers..... i quit about a month ago.... work is hell but im stickin with it... well.. for now anyway...

I went on Chantix to help me quit smoking. Worked like a charm and helped me out. I know how it is to quit cold turkey, it never works out that way. What I suggest you to do is buy a pack of ciggs tonight and light one up. What you do is make an appointment with your doctor and have him/her prescribe you Chantix. Chances are your going to spark one up anyways in day 3-4 without the help of medication. Go to chantix.com and see how it will help you out.

i dunno that chantix helps but you have to actually have the will power there, unfourtunately i didnt.

did you ever get freaky ass dreams from the chantix? that stuff wigged me out during my sleep, guess its a rather common side effect.

Thanks and I know Chantix works but long story short I went through hell getting off anti depressiants meds and I will never touch another one again.

That was 2 years ago New Year's res and it was the worst experence of my life, so I know I can do this after going through that. Anti-depression drugs are phyically adictive and the withdrawls are very real and scarry.

Wow, you made me remember how hard that was and I did it so there's hope.
Thanks

Hang in there! You can do it!

I've been sick for the past 3 or 4 days so I haven't smoked nor stayed up past 9 pm. Then again I generally smoke about a pack per week and that's only when I drink myself stupid on the weekends.

Chantix isn't a Anti-Depressant medication. It's a medication that aids those who want to quit smoking. But you also need will power to quit. I don't think you can quit cold turkey after 21 years of smoking. If I couldn't quit cold turkey after 5 years of smoking, there is no way you can with your 21 years of smoking. Give Chantix a try!

Good luck with it. It's been 11 months for me after 27 years of smoking and I have never felt better. I used the patch, which I had tried before, but this time through a company called Freeclear. They offer coaching and a 24/7 support group just like AA. You get the urge you cancall and talk to someone for help. Change your routine, stay away from smoking situations and think how much extra money you will have to spend on monster fish.
