My water parameters were fine.

Don't sweat it too much Richard. Whenever you decide to acquire some pacific dempseys, expect to lose some.
I lost my first one. The second time I bought two, and lost the lighter colored one, but my blue one just seems to be hardy as all hell because he's still going strong at around 6-7".
Keep trying and you'll find one that will make it all worth while.

Sorry Rich for your loss... definitly was a good looking fish..in fact very good looking..if it looks this good dead it must have had some gorgeous color.. get another soon!!!
