Poor guy, he looked like he had a nice home - so if you raised him it looked like he had a good life. How did you know his back was broken? Did something fall on him or did he ram the tank side too hard?

Jeez Cam sorry for your loss bud. I feel your pain. Poor guy. I was wondering the same thing tho... How do you know he had a broken back?

Sorry bro. You put as much, or more energy in to this hobby, as anyone else. That is why I feel bad...It hurts us naturally, more than your average keeper. RIP Egghead :(

Thanks everybody.

He could only move his pectoral fins. His back end and fins wouldnt move . The first day I saw him, I thought it was a swim bladder or a blout problem. But then when I saw him paddling away extra hard with those front fins trying to get around and no buoyancy issues, I knew. :( That and the fact that he loved to swim as fast as he could back and forth across the tank, chasing fish...Wich was the main reason I found him a new home.

My wifes favorite FH had the same thing happen. I don't know if hers banged the glass or not. He did continue to eat for several days but finally lost it. I had to turn the pumps in his tank off and run sponges because he would get blown around otherwise. I took the decorations and substrate out because he was rubbing himself raw on them, but he eventually lost the battle.

Very sad. :(
