it depends on the species. if you have P bridgesii(mystery snail) it'll never happen. they stop just shy of golfball size. if you have P. canaliculata, 1.5 years. BUT you have to make the tank suitible for the snail. low, pH, lack of calcium in the tank and lack of food will keep it from growing. you have to set the tank up for the snail... www.applesnail.net
