R.I.P Jardini Aro my saddest day in fishkeeping

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hahaha I know few probs though they've gone up in price loads since six years ago there's a couple of 6" ones in one of my lfs but they want £200 each and im not flush for cash at min after buying fx6 few months back , plus my other fish will destroy a baby jar , my mates saying grow sone rays up but think my jag will have its eyes ? ( gut feeling )
But if I see a 10/12" + for sale cheep enough its coming home :D

Bit of an update people , still treating my tank few of my cats are still cloudy eyed and slimed up fingers still crossed it'll go soon :(

On the plus side ive set a growout tank up and found myself another jar its about 6" atm im picking it up once to tanks cycled :) Prob couple of weeks , went to choose it and pay for it today (I let the kids pick it but they've picked a nice looking one out of the three largest so big smiles :) )
Let the growing process begin (again)

I'm so sorry evz, that must be on par to losing a cat having it for so long. Its awesome you found a good deal on one!! I would love a jar but I gotta hold off till my builds up n running

Thanks buffalo its gona take some time to get my 22" beast back in tank but im on my way , plus im going to do a few things different this time around such as pellet training tricks from a young age my other one spat out all pellet except hikari sticks , and tankmates etc ( ive learnt from my mistakes)

Oh yeah I've read about how they can turn mean, I think I'm going with a black once my builds up n running lol. Jars are beautiful fish though, I'd like to try and comm one at some point

Big cats work well with jars , avoid sliver fish they have no chance , big cichlids can work but only with territory to defend big pipe etc (depending on the cichlid)
There are quite a few mfk's that have placid jars with no trouble im kind of hoping ill get lucky second time round my last one was pure evil killed and ate lots of tankmates over the years

sorry for the loss hopefully your smaller jardini will be even larger the your older one in time how are the cats doing

I lost my irwini cat last week :(
I've managed to get my tank stable now everything is feeding fine hopefully ill get back on track soon
I'm picking my baby jardini up in next couple of days :) the growout tank is ready with a few small tinfoil barbs to keep him busy .
Also im getting the one fish i didn't trust my old evil jar with a stingray this week :D my mates sorting me out a very good price on one (think he felt sorry for my jar loss he's seen me put so much effort in with it over the years)
