We should all be so lucky to accomplish so much in our lifetime. Some may say poor him. I say poor us.

Theres been quite a few other influental musicians pass on over recent years i cant really remember them getting much coverage :( they deserve to be remembered i mean there was
Benjamin of The cars in 2000
Dimebag darrel of damageplan and pantera, was murdered on stage in 2004
Layne stanely of alice in chains in 2002
Brad delp of boston in 2007
I can go on and on

Its all terrible stuff but it just seems that the death of a super star like micheal jackson is going to overshadow everybody else
I remember when Dimebag Darrel was shot. It was right here in Ohio (some club in Dayton), so it was all over the local news.

It is sad, but 94 is a pretty good age to live to. I don't own a Les Paul (more of a Fender man myself), but I'd like to some day. He had about as much to do with the birth and spread of the electric guitar as Leo Fender-maybe more since he could play it (Leo Fender had his guitars on the market first, but he was an equipment man and couldn't actually play the guitar at all). His guitar model is definitely one of the most famous ever created and isn't going to be forgotten for a LONG time

Definitely one of the most influential personas in the music industry and one hell of a player! He inspired so many people around the world, and 75% of them have probably never heard his music before. The only other public figure I can think of that lived in modern times is Paul Newman (actor, race driver, salad dressing fanatic and maker, etc).

That sucks. I play Ibanez myself but I can still be found lusting after LPs on a regular basis.
In reference to other legends dying, Iwas wearing a Pantera shirt the other day and someone commented on it and didnt even know Dime had died......?

It's too bad... les paul contributed more to the musical world than almost anyone else... i'll always remember the day i bought my first accoustic guitar... yesterday, the day les paul died :(

RIP Dimebag and Layne. They were, IMO, two of the most talented musical artists ever.

Laynes vocal range was amazing, and he could perform just as well if not better live.

It seems to me that Alice in chains was a little overshadowed by Nirvana. when i think they are far better.

Although pearl jam are good too :D
