Yeah if you got some driftwood in there, theres gonna be brown sawdust all over the place. Get a powerhead to keep the dust moving so your filters can take care of it. Check your filter floss more frequently since this stuff is fine and will clog your filters faster.
I put mine in a tank with no driftwood and give him algae wafers. Every once in awhile though I put a little piece in there for about a week at a time, to give him some roughage.

It is very important for royals to have a large supply of wood in their diet. Lack of wood is a leading cause of death in these plecos.

I just traded in an 18" monster common. My new L330 royal will put out about the same amount of poop in about 4 days, but is only 5".

hahaha my ***** phil finally got his royal.

dont forget some zucinni...pics please!

I agree with having driftwood available for it's diet. Mine happily eats algae wafers and cucumbers. They sure grow slow though.

I have seen royals for as cheap as $20, but it all depends on the size you want. My 330 was 3" when I got him, and he was $55. He is now a healthy 5.5".

what type of royal is it? got any pics up yet? yea, again, bogwood is a must for it to survive

Why would you buy it if you are just going to moan about it crapping habits. all plecos crap alot. I have a tank that has 3 Royals, Green Phantom, Dragon Fin, And a 10" Common and I don't mind the crapping. I think it is a small price to pay for such lovely fish. And remember a crapping pleco is a happy pleco
