"rack" system

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
...you can fit a 4x4 through the holes of the block. Make sure you're laying the blocks down tho since the center web of the block has no structural strength.

Yes, thanks, and I'm probably going to put some blocks in the center for support too.

I wouldn't run the 2x4's through the center of the blocks for the same reasons already stated and also your tanks will also be a lot more level if you lay them across the top of the blocks instead. Notice how the rack is constructed in the picture I posted in your other thread.

Running 4x 10 gal on each level of a rack system. Running them the deep side out rather then the wide side out. Put your 2x4s so your looking at the 4" side not the 2" Side.

IMO you'd prolly do better with just straight wood over cinder blocks. Think about it, all you need is 4 legs @ max 6ft? @ 3-5$ each 12' 2x4... Has to be cheaper then cinder blocks and more sturdy.

I will see if I can't get some pics of mine up if I get it back together tomorrow.

Np, no one helped me when I made mine, just threw mine together and hoped for the best. Which the mistakes that where made are what is being fixed now as its ripped apart. Ex: having L shaped drains and having sludge build up in the - part of it... If that makes any sense... One of those things you have to see to understand maybe lol.
