i know the racks are easy to build but i guess heat tape is the best way for heating them?Davo you say you like plastic tubs but how do you heat them all?

heat pads connected to a thermostat, matts at the back of a rack, tubs on top of them. How I'd do it. What's it for?

Davo's got the right idea, except heat tape is much cheaper than heat pads.

yeah, heat tape, heat cable... whatever you wana use really. Make sure it's stated though otherwise they can get way to hot.

thanks,i dont have solid plans yet but this spring i was thinking of doing it.I would like a pair of rosys and something else but i dont want tanks all over the rooms like in the past.

It's a lot cheaper and more conveniant in the long run to heat a small room or closet than the racks themselves.

I can vouch for that. I got a wire rack and oil-filled radiator from Lowe's and set it all up in my laundry room. Works great...then again, my snakes are fine without heat gradients.

that would be the only problem, guess it depends a lot on the species. I know a lot of people do both to a degree.
